I’m Rael Hay, Director and Designer of birdRock Project Studio Inc., a boutique Interior Design firm based in the beautiful West Kelowna area of the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia.

I’m so excited to announce the next chapter of my design journey — celebrating the transformation and rebrand of Raelistic Artistic into birdRock Project Studio, complete with a fresh new name and website.

A New Chapter

Like all great transformations, the foundation remains strong — only now, it’s been refined and built upon.

Over the past several years, life has brought many wonderful changes — getting married, becoming a mother to our beautiful children, and growing personally and professionally. My projects have evolved in scale and complexity, and it felt like the right time for my company to experience its own renovation and transformation to reflect that growth.

I’ll always carry forward the values I founded Raelistic Artistic on — especially my favorite: “No detail left un-detailed.” Those principles continue to shape every project I take on, from Interior Design and Renovation Planning to In-Home Colour Consults and Exterior Design.

I hope you enjoy the new look and feel of birdRock Project Studio. I designed the branding from the heart — with a little wink to the story behind the name.

The Story Behind the Name

Every name carries a story, and birdRock couldn’t be more personal.

My husband and I have always shared a dry sense of humour. One day, while deep in discussion about his less-than-enthusiastic reaction to my latest idea — a plan to “renovate our own renovation” — I told him that sometimes these discussions make me feel like a little bird, flitting around in the sky, full of inspiration, and calling out ideas with excitement.

His expression made it clear that he wasn’t quite as thrilled by my vision — particularly when it came to adding a second skylight through our recently finished ceiling! In that moment, I joked that he was like a rock tied to my ankle – just weighing me down.

Without missing a beat, he replied that when the little bird tires of flying around with all her ideas, he would be the rock she can safely land on.

And just like that, birdRock was born.

Transformation Through the Years

What began as Raelistic Artistic has now evolved into birdRock Project Studio — a name that perfectly captures the balance between creativity and grounded execution that defines our work. This next chapter honors where we’ve been while looking forward to where we’re going — continuing to bring thoughtful, detail-oriented design to every project, big or small.
